Twitorfit – the story
Posted by zuzanna on 15th Dec, 2008
They say good things come to those who wait. But what happens when a group of very impatient people come together? Great things happen.
Tuesday, 11 November, 2008, another wet evening in Londonwhen a group of peeps from Huddle, fav.or.it and iPlatform came up with an idea for a new Twitter app - Twitorfit was born.
5:17pm, @huddlesuz asks Who do you think are the hottest start-up entrepreneurs - male and female?
5:34pm @nickhalstead asks @huddlesuz so we need a twitter hot or not site?
5:44pm @Bandrew says to @nickhalstead @huddlesuz twitorfit.com
5:58pm @BobfromHuddle tells @Bandrew - register a domain name
6:01pm @joshuamarch creates @twitorfit and suggested pulling details via replies
6:04pm @Bandrew registers the domain.. All we need now is a spec!
7:00pm @BobfromHuddle starts playing with early alpha
Next morning: @huddlesuz, @nickhalstead, @BobfromHuddle; @Bandrew and @joshuamarch redefine the spec
Saturday: @jjenzz designs the logo and look and feel.
Sunday: @nickhalstead’s designer puts finishing touches to the Twitorfit blog
Monday: @stut and @dtsn from fav.or.it start the app development…
Beta launches 6 December, you guys seem to like it. Today, we’re giving you Twitorfit.com. Enjoy!
How do I unregister, I could not find any link at all
[...] I have to admit, twitorfit is puerile, silly, and quite useless. But I love it - it reminds me of when @bomega announced he was an ‘influential twitter’ and I responded he might just be an influential twit. The idea has taken shape rapidly from a few ideas twittered recently - see the twitorfit blog. [...]
Hey great site guys! - the “Changed your profile picture? Click here and we’ll go get it” link is not working for me (have been vain and uploaded a new profile pic to twitter, but it doesn’t seem to be feeding through to your site).
Great service, addicted to sendmaking twitter tools!
you dumbasses. adolescence much?
I don’t know some moments of this post..
[...] Today we launched TwitOrFit. We developed this in partnership with the lovely people over at huddle.net, the full story of how it got started you can read over on the twitorfit blog. [...]
